Castletroy Golf Club has undergone a major transformation over the past number of years, under the careful supervision of Eddie Connaughton, Course Architect . The course, reopened in May 2006, has been completely redesigned with eighteen tee box and green complexes constructed to USGA specifications as well as the introduction of fairway bunkering and water features throughout the course.
Set in mature parklands the course will test golfers of all ability. The gentle rolling of the front nine contrasts with the stern test that awaits many on the back nine. The par 3 11th hole played over water will test the nerve of most golfers while the 14th and 17th holes offer panoramic views over the entire golf course. The 16th hole with its fairway bunkering and elevated green will require complete concentration from tee to green.
Golfers can replay their round while relaxing in the clubhouse with full catering and bar facilities available throughout the year.
The team at Castletroy Golf Club are always pleased to welcome visiting societies as well as individual golfers to the club and can offer individually tailored packages to suit all requirements.
Castletroy is steeped in golfing tradition with Fred Daly, Harry Bradshaw, Jimmy Bruen, Joe Carr and Des Smyth some of the past winners of the Senior Scratch Cup. So follow in their footsteps and play one of Ireland's great parkland courses.
